How often should I take lessons?

Most students benefit from weekly lessons, especially when building technique or preparing for auditions, performances, or recordings. Flexible scheduling may also be available depending on availability.

Where are lessons held?

Private lessons are available in Sunnyside and Long Island City, as well as at Ripley-Grier Studios in Manhattan. Other NYC rehearsal studios may also be arranged when appropriate. Studio or rehearsal-space rental fees, when applicable, are separate from the lesson rate. Virtual lessons are also available.

Who do you work with?

Cheryl Ann works with singers ranging from motivated beginners to advanced performers. Lessons are tailored to each singer’s voice, experience, musical interests, and individual goals.

Do you offer audition preparation? 

Yes. Coaching is available for school auditions, performing arts programs, college auditions, professional opportunities, performances, and recordings.

Lessons & Studio Policies

Lessons & Pricing

Private lessons are available in 30-minute and 60-minute sessions.

30-Minute Lessons

  • Single lesson: $60

  • 4-lesson package: $240

60-Minute Lessons

  • Single lesson: $90

  • 4-lesson package: $360

Packages are preferred for students who would like consistent training and regular scheduling. One-off lessons may be available on a case-by-case basis, depending on availability.Payment for packages is due before the first lesson in the block.

Reserved Lesson Times

For students working with Cheryl Ann regularly, a lesson time may be reserved specifically for that student.Because availability is limited, requests to change a regular lesson time can be accommodated when another opening is available.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

Plans change — I completely understand. Please provide at least 4 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson.With at least 4 hours’ notice, the lesson may be rescheduled at no additional charge, subject to availability.

Cancellations with less than 4 hours’ notice will count as a completed lesson.

If Cheryl Ann needs to cancel for any reason, the lesson will never be deducted from the student’s package. Another time will simply be arranged.

Flexibility

Work, family, travel, performances, and other commitments can make schedules unpredictable.

If something significant comes up, please reach out. Unusual circumstances can always be considered reasonably on a case-by-case basis.
